January 28, 2022: Andrew Davies, Executive Director of the Colorado Center for Aging talked about the history of rights, how language did not diversify to help us out, and how we can use language ourselves which opens up conversation with others. This interactive discussion was designed to help people understand why political gridlock and impasses can occur when speaking about politics and proposed legislation. This session was especially helpful to community members wanting to weigh in on issues affecting older adults during the legislative process this 2022 session.

December 17, 2021: The topic was “Be Scam Aware”: Barbara Bennett, Crime Prevention Unit Coordinator, of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Auxiliary helped us to be more aware of scams that are prevalent today with email, SMS, phones, the Internet, and door to door solicitors. Phone apps such as cash transfers were also covered, with recommendations for using them safely.
