Ensuring the built environment is accessible for people of all ages and abilities is important to ensuring aging adults have a high quality of life. The Mobility & Access Priority Group performed a Walk Audit in Midtown Fort Collins surrounding the Foothills Mall and US287/College Ave. corridor in June 2022 in advance of planned streetscape improvements in the area. Future Walk Audits are planned in other areas throughout Larimer County in 2023. Learn more about the Midtown Fort Collins Walk Audit and other mobility assessments in the region here.

Transportation access in rural areas of Larimer County continues to be a gap identified in Larimer County and regional plans. RideNoCo continues to build relationships with organizations in communities such as Red Feather Lakes to acquire the necessary funding and resources to launch new transportation options in rural communities.

Following extensive planning and engagement, RideNoCO launched in fall 2021 as a central hub to discover transportation options in Northern Colorado and beyond. Learn more about RideNoCo at www.rideno.co.

According to the American Hospital Association, 3.6 million people forego medical care each year to due a lack of transportation. The Mobility & Access Priority Group is in the planning stages of convening a Healthcare & Transportation Roundtable to bring together local healthcare and transportation providers with the purpose of improving the patient experience when it comes to transportation to-and-from medical care and thus improve health outcomes and quality of life. It is envisioned that this toolkit can be taken to other healthcare facilities to replicate the roundtable format in other communities in Northern Colorado.
