Aura Pics -by Sharon Reinan

Post: My grandchildren gave me an Aura frame. In case you aren’t familiar with this new gimmick, it allows anyone I know to send me pictures via the cloud or whatever is up their directing traffic. I get an alert mostly from Katie who had a baby a year before she was to turn 39 so they made sure this “geriatric” mother-to-be was well cared for. As a result, she had a beautiful big baby boy that I have been able to see multiple times during his first three months. Katie’s weekly batches of baby Hugo pictures usually include three of his adorable face and then a few where his is reading John Updike with his father or playing the piano with his mother, certainly gifted like his mom.
I just received an alert that I have 9 pictures from Amy my granddaughter in North Dakota. I don’t see her boys that much so it’s fun to see them holding up fingers which I’m assuming indicates the grade they are in. Along with the boys are photos of Amy in some foreign place, I can’t tell if she’s in Egypt or the North Dakota Badlands.
None of the photos sent via space includes a name or description, not unlike the photo albums my mother and father left. Would it have hurt them to give me a name of the baby that does resemble Hugo?
Wait, I don’t share DNA with Katie or Amy.
It doesn’t matter, I love that they think of me as Grandma.
